Also known as Omaha 8 or better or Omaha 8/B or Omaha Split, Omaha Hi Lo is one of the most popular forms of poker. In Omaha poker there are two types of best hands – the highest hand and the lowest hand. So in a single game of Omaha Hi Lo there can be two winners – one who is having the highest hand and the player who has the lowest qualifying hand or the low hand. The pot is split between the two winners. Incase there are no players with a qualifying low hand then the player with the highest hand will win the whole pot. In order to qualify for a low hand none of the cards should be more than 8.

In Omaha poker Hi Lo a ‘nut low’ takes place when the board has three low cards and a player has the other two lowest cards that are not there on the board. This means that player has the ‘nut low’. Omaha poker is the perfect game for serious gamblers. Unlike other games bluffing is not an important part of Omaha poker, neither will reading the faces of the other players give you any extra edge. You have to concentrate solely on your hand.
